Beneath the Patchwork Moon A Hope Springs Novel Alison Kent 9781477848456 Books
This is the second book in the Hope Springs series. It answers a lot of the questions left open from the first book.
Secrets.
Luna made a promise to her best friend before she died. And now, ten years later it’s finally time to break that promise and spill her friends secrets. For her own peace of mind, but also for the families involved. And for the first man she ever loved, Angelo, her best friends older brother.
This was a story filled with guilt, regret, sorrow and second chances.
I fell in love with these characters in the first book. I loved learning more of Luna’s past, what had been tearing her up inside. Coming to terms with Sierra’s death, and turning her former home into a school for the arts, helps her to grow. To heal. It also puts her back with an angry Angel who wants answers. He wants the truth about that fateful weekend that took the life of his sister and left another irreversibly damaged, and had put Luna, herself in the hospital. And he’s given her just five days to come clean about everything.
The book was well written, the story held my attention and was, at times, heartbreaking. It’s told in dual points of view, and does have a happy ending.
While it can be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend the first book for more of Luna’s story.

Continue to enjoy the books in this series. I'll keep watch for more titles from this auther
Loved the characters and how the current story intertwines with the past. You feel the Texas beast along with imagining just how life was growing up for Luna on the sheep farm and Angelo at the Coffey homestead. Love this author who brings her characters to life
I enjoyed reading the book and it kept my attention. But at times the descriptions were a bit confusing or too long.
Just so touching to read another part of this series.cant wait to continue to the next part of this fabulous series.
Alison Kent is now one of my favorite Authors and I will look for more of her books to read. I love stories that are in a Series of Books and always look for all of them when they turn out as well as this series did. I really enjoyed these books in Hope Springs.
I really enjoyed the first book, The Second Chance Cafe, and purchased them both on KDOTD. I looked forward to reading the second book, and was surprised when I didn't feel any sense of continuity in the storyline. This could easily be read as a standalone because the information presented in the first book has virtually no impact on this second book. I will NOT check to see if there are additional books in this series because I wasn't left with any "what happens next?" curiosity and I won't buy additional books by this author. Just my opinion.
The plot was typical romance fodder old lovers reunite, sparks fly, conflict blah blah blah, then 3/4 of the way through the readers who need explicit sex scenes will be very happy.
Occasional bits of good descriptive passages, but the story was so-so and the boatloads of burdensome, misplaced guilt grew tiresome! Get over it! It wasn't your fault!
BTW, the Big Secrets will be no surprise whatsoever.
